In January, Quinn Brown, a 19-year-old from Portland, made a remarkable discovery in a second-hand store in Hillsboro.
He found a jacket worn by Wilt Chamberlain, a legend of the Los Angeles Lakers. After purchasing it for just $3.07, Brown posted a photo on Instagram, attracting the attention of Sotheby’s auction house. The jacket was authenticated as being from the 1972 NBA Finals, with an estimated value between $150,000 and $250,000. Brown, who started reselling items from thrift stores in high school, stated that finding the jacket was an amazing experience.
The auction for the jacket has started and will end on July 20. Brown hopes that the money earned will help him retire early. Wilt Chamberlain, a legendary player, is known for his impressive records, including the game in which he scored 100 points.
