An 18-year-old has been arrested in France for planning violent attacks on women with links to the 'incel' movement.

Police in France have detained an 18-year-old on suspicion of planning violent attacks on women in the context of the 'incel' movement, which promotes misogyny and violence. The case is being investigated by the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office and is the first of its kind in France. The young man was carrying two knives when he was arrested and the authorities have opened an investigation into possible 'association with criminal terrorists'.
