Volvo Cars has announced the recall of over 40,000 electric EX30 SUVs globally, after identifying a risk of overheating in the high-voltage battery modules.

This issue affects 40,323 EX30 Single-Motor Extended Range and Twin-Motor Performance vehicles, equipped with cells produced by a joint venture supported by Geely, the majority shareholder of Volvo. The company will replace the affected modules free of charge and has begun notifying owners, who are advised to limit charging to 70% to avoid fire risks.
