Anti-government protests in Serbia, which began in November 2024, have recently escalated into violence, with demonstrators vandalizing headquarters of President Aleksandăr Vucici's Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). After a calm night, thousands of protesters took to the streets, throwing stones and stun grenades. Vucici rejected calls for early elections and threatened to crack down on violence, as 137 policemen were injured in recent clashes. The protests were sparked in response to a 16-death tragedy blamed on corruption.
