After several selfies of Pope Francis' open coffin surfaced on the internet, the Vatican has banned photos in this context. Around 50,000 people turned out to pay their respects, but some visitors were disturbed by those taking pictures, including smiling. Vatican officials have stressed that it is not common sense to photograph during a solemn moment. The coffin will be closed Friday evening and the funeral will be held Saturday in St. Peter's Square.
