U.S. Vice President, JD Vance, acknowledges the difficulties of peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine

The Vice President of the USA, JD Vance, stated that negotiations for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine are more difficult than anticipated. During a conference in Budapest, Vance mentioned that the work on this agreement has been ongoing for 14 months and that, although significant progress has been made, a final solution has not yet been reached.

He emphasized that the positions of the Ukrainians and Russians have come closer, but criticized the lack of interest from many European leaders in resolving the conflict. Vance appreciated the contribution of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Italian government leader Giorgia Meloni, who have helped the USA better understand the situation.

At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused European supporters of Ukraine of making unacceptable demands. Ukraine is awaiting a visit from President Trump's envoys to discuss a possible peace agreement, but negotiations are hindered by the conflict in the Middle East. Zelensky refuses to cede territories in Donbas without a referendum, which further complicates the situation.
