Trump administration officials have said they will reduce the number of planned layoffs among federal employees after tens of thousands chose to resign or retire early. The main reason for the change is to offer financial incentives to those who have already left the system. There is also a "natural downsizing" of staff. Previous plans included laying off 80,000 employees, but now the number has been reduced to 30,000.
