In the first three months of 2025, U.S. Gross Domestic Product declined 0.3% at an annualized rate, driven by an increase in imports, according to Commerce Department data. That represents a contraction of 0.1% from the previous quarter, a result below analysts' expectations for a 0.4% increase. The drop coincides with the start of Donald Trump's second term in office, which he has declared his first 100 days the most successful in American history.
