Following the lifting of sanctions by President Trump, US companies Baker Hughes, Hunt Energy and Argent LNG will create a master plan to revitalize Syria's energy sector, affected by the civil war. The project will include oil and gas exploration and extraction, as well as increasing electricity generation capacity. Syria now produces just 1.6 GW of power, compared with 9.5 GW before 2011, and the government is seeking partnerships to rebuild its energy infrastructure.
