The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, emphasized the need to start negotiations to end hostilities in Iran, in the context of the critical impact on global energy supply.

In a joint press conference with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Ursula von der Leyen highlighted the negative effects of the conflict on gas and oil prices, which affect businesses and society. She condemned Iran's attacks on civilian infrastructure and ships in the Gulf, calling them "unacceptable." The European leader stressed the importance of finding a negotiated solution to restore stability in the Middle East.
