In a report published to mark World Anti-Trafficking Day, UNICEF points out that 92% of child victims of exploitation in France are unaccompanied minors, mostly from Africa. The organization recommends that these children should no longer be prosecuted but should be considered victims. The report highlights the obstacles facing these minors, such as language barriers and the influence of their entourage, which facilitate exploitation. UNICEF calls for a review of legislation to provide adequate protection for these children, including poverty prevention measures and non-criminalization of those who commit crimes under the influence of trafficking.
