The Finnish Ministry of Defence announced a violation of airspace by drones in the southeast of the country, near the border with Russia. The incident was reported on Sunday after several Ukrainian drones crashed in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania during attacks on Russian oil facilities.

Finnish authorities reacted quickly, and Defence Minister Antti Hakkanen emphasized the seriousness of the situation. On Sunday morning, drones were detected at low altitude in the maritime area of southeastern Finland, and two of them crashed near the city of Kouvola. The police isolated the accident area, and the Finnish Air Force conducted a reconnaissance mission with an F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet. An investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
