In August 2025, a Ukrainian combat robot captured Russian soldiers without firing a shot, marking a first in the war between Russia and Ukraine. The details of this action were made public recently, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, emphasized the importance of unmanned platforms in the conflict.

The Third Assault Brigade attempted to capture a Russian fortification, but after the infantry's failure, it was decided to use kamikaze drones. After bombing the enemy position, the Russian soldiers emerged with a sign that read "We want to surrender," and the robot managed to capture them without violence. Since then, combat robot technology has advanced, with them carrying out logistical missions, evacuating the wounded, and maintaining positions. In March 2026, robots conducted over 9,000 missions, compared to 2,900 in November 2025, highlighting a significant increase in their use on the battlefield.
