Ukraine has managed to secure the release of seven employees of Oschadbank, arrested in Hungary while transporting 80 million dollars and 9 kg of gold.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Andriy Sybiha, stated that the employees are safe and have crossed the border. Hungarian authorities detained them on suspicion of money laundering, accusing them of transporting large sums of cash without clear explanations. The bank stated that the transport was a regular one between Austria and Ukraine. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán avoided commenting on the situation but emphasized that shipments to Ukraine will be suspended until the dispute regarding Russian oil supplies is resolved.
