Ukrainian armed forces announced the destruction of a Russian Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system, valued at 45 million dollars, according to a report from the Ground Forces on October 26, cited by The Kyiv Independent. The 'Black Forest' Brigade carried out the attack on the target in an unspecified location and published video footage of the operation. However, The Kyiv Independent was unable to verify the authenticity of these claims. The Buk-M3 is an essential air defense system for Russia, capable of engaging 36 targets simultaneously, including aerial, ground, and maritime. This system, originally developed by the Soviet Union in the 1970s, became internationally known in 2014 after the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17.
