The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and defense officials announced the intention to request 20 billion dollars from allies to intensify attacks on Russia. This request will be presented at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting on June 18. A Ukrainian official emphasized that each ally will be asked to contribute amounts between 2 and 6 billion dollars, either in the form of financial aid or as a loan.

Ukraine allocates 40% of its GDP for defense, the highest percentage in the world, and intends to use the funds for the purchase of air defense systems, drones, and electronic warfare equipment. The country has also intensified attacks on Russian infrastructure, targeting strategic objectives to cause resource shortages. International support for Ukraine will be a central topic at the NATO summit in July.
