Consultations between high-ranking officials of Ukraine and the United States have begun to discuss possible coordinates of a future peace agreement, taking place in Switzerland. Rustem Umerov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, emphasized the importance of American participation and the willingness for substantial discussions. President Volodymyr Zelensky approved the Ukrainian delegation, which includes top officials in the field of security. The presidential office reaffirmed that Ukraine will not be an obstacle to peace, but will defend the legitimate interests of its people.
This round of negotiations is influenced by an ultimatum from President Trump, who demanded the acceptance of a peace plan involving significant territorial concessions for Ukraine, under the threat of losing American military support. European leaders criticized the plan but promised that no decision would be made without Ukraine's agreement.
