Ukraine has agreed with Western partners that any persistent violation of a future ceasefire agreement by Russia will provoke a coordinated military response from Europe and the United States, according to the Financial Times. This strategy was discussed in December and January among Ukrainian, European, and American officials.

According to the plan, any violation of the ceasefire by Russia would trigger a response within 24 hours, starting with a diplomatic warning and, if necessary, actions from the Ukrainian army. If hostilities continue, a second phase of intervention will be initiated, involving forces from the "Coalition of the Willing," which includes EU members, the United Kingdom, Norway, Iceland, and Turkey. In the event of a large-scale attack, a coordinated response from a force supported by the West, including the U.S. military, would be triggered 72 hours after the initial violation.
