The new law, signed by President Zelenski, allows people over 60 to volunteer to join the army, giving them the opportunity to sign a one-year contract after medical and unit approval. These volunteers can take on non-combat roles, helping to replenish the military in the wake of the personnel shortages caused by the conflict with Russia. The law includes a two-month probationary period and the contract can be terminated early if recruits are deemed unfit.
