The measures target the cryptocurrency exchange platforms Grinex and Meer, which facilitate transactions for Russians, including through the ruble-backed stablecoin A7A5. The sanctions are part of efforts to counter the Kremlin's attempts to avoid the consequences of international sanctions. Kyrgyzstan's Capital Bank and its director were also sanctioned for financing military equipment. The announcement comes after an international meeting in support of Ukraine.
