Two Romanian climbers died in the Gran Paradiso massif in Italy after falling into a crevasse. The incident was reported on Monday by Italian rescue teams, who had been searching for the two since July 9, when they left the Vittorio Emanuele II refuge to climb.

In recent days, helicopter overflights were conducted, but without success. This morning, the crevasse was located, and the climbers, who fell from a height of approximately 20 meters, were retrieved.

The identification operations are coordinated by the Guardia di Finanza from Entreves-Courmayeur. So far, the names of the victims have not been made public, and the son of one of them alerted the authorities after he was unable to contact them. The bodies were found at an altitude of 3,700 meters, on the descent route.
