The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that it shot down a "lost control" drone that was approaching Turkish airspace over the Black Sea. The incident was managed by deploying F-16 aircraft on an interception mission to prevent any unpleasant consequences. The drone was shot down in a secure area, away from populated regions, and the ministry did not specify its origin.

Ankara mentioned that an aerial target was detected and tracked as part of routine procedures, establishing that it corresponded to an uncontrolled drone. This incident occurs in the context of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's warning, who emphasized the need to avoid turning the Black Sea into a confrontation zone between Russia and Ukraine.
