Turkey plans to build a wall more than 8km long on its land border with Greece to stop migration to the EU.

The governor of Edirne province in northwestern Turkey has announced plans to build an 8.5km wall on the western border near Greece, with plans to extend it further. The move comes in the context of the 2016 EU-Turkey agreement on migration management. Both Greece and Bulgaria have already erected barriers on their borders.
