The Turkish Parliament approved a law on Monday that would introduce conditional amnesty for thousands of Kurdish militants, in an attempt to promote the government's peace initiative with their group.

The new measure represents a step towards ending a conflict that has killed tens of thousands of people. It could also have implications beyond Turkey's borders. This could lead to closer ties between Turkey and Iraq.
