The Polish border police announced the discovery of an underground tunnel used for human trafficking between Belarus and Poland. Over 130 migrants, mostly from Afghanistan and Pakistan, were apprehended, and two alleged traffickers, a 69-year-old Pole and a 49-year-old Lithuanian, were arrested. The tunnel, several dozen meters long and 1.5 meters wide, had a hidden entrance in Belarus and exited on Polish territory, about 10 meters from the border barrier. Authorities determined that the tunnel had been used by at least 180 people to enter Poland and, implicitly, the European Union. Since the beginning of the year, three other similar tunnels have been discovered. Poland accuses Belarus of orchestrating illegal migration to the borders of the European Union.
