The director of national intelligence services, Tulsi Gabbard, declassified 37 CIA employees, including an agent who was working undercover in Russia, without being aware of the risks involved. This action led to the disclosure of the agent's identity, considered a crime under American law. Gabbard acted on Trump's instructions to revoke the security clearances of those involved in the assessment of Russian interference in the 2016 elections and in political actions against him. The CIA warned that these disclosures could compromise the agency's operations and international relations.
