In an interview broadcast on Wednesday, President Donald Trump stated that the American-Israeli war against Iran is 'almost over.' Trump responded positively to the question from Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo about the state of the conflict, saying that if they were to withdraw now, the reconstruction of Iran would take two decades.
Bartiromo pointed out that Trump used the past tense to describe the war, suggesting that it might have ended. Recently, discussions in Islamabad to end the conflict, which began on February 28, did not lead to an agreement, but mediation efforts continue.
Trump expressed optimism regarding the resumption of direct talks between the US and Iran, which could take place in Pakistan in the coming days, in the context of a two-week ceasefire still in effect.
