The President of the USA, Donald Trump, expressed disappointment regarding his discussions with Vladimir Putin, stating that although the conversations are constructive, they do not lead to results. In this context, Trump announced economic sanctions against major Russian oil companies, Lukoil and Rosneft, blocking their assets and resources. The US Treasury Secretary emphasized that these measures are necessary due to Putin's refusal to end the war in Ukraine.

At the same time, European leaders are meeting in Brussels to discuss the situation in Ukraine and have adopted a new package of sanctions against Russia. Mark Rutte, the NATO Secretary General, stated that the sanctions are intended to put pressure on Russia. Although Trump hoped that the new sanctions would facilitate peace negotiations, Putin's spokesperson declared that Russia's position remains unchanged. Additionally, Trump reiterated that the United States will not supply Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, highlighting their complexity. On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a contract in Sweden for the acquisition of 150 fighter jets.
