American President Donald Trump stated that he is open to dialogue with North Korea without any preconditions, according to a statement from the White House. This position came after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un claimed that Pyongyang is willing to discuss with the U.S., provided that they abandon their "hostile" policy towards his regime.

Kim emphasized that the prospects for relations between the U.S. and North Korea depend on Washington's attitude. During his term, Trump had three historic meetings with Kim, which contributed to stabilizing the situation on the Korean Peninsula. Meanwhile, South Korea's nuclear envoy, Jeong Yeon-doo, confirmed that the U.S. position remains unchanged, emphasizing Seoul's support for dialogue between Washington and Pyongyang.
