The President of the USA, Donald Trump, announced on Friday his intention to introduce a one-year cap on credit card interest rates, limiting them to 10%. He criticized the current Biden administration, stating that interest rates have risen to exorbitant levels, between 20 and 30%, and that Americans have been "robbed" by credit card companies.
Trump stated on Truth Social that he will not allow the American public to continue being exploited by these companies. His proposal would come into effect on January 20, 2026, marking one year since his return to the White House.
