American President Donald Trump assured that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not be arrested in the United States, despite comments from New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who mentioned that he is considering such an action. In a social media post, Trump stated that Netanyahu will not be arrested "in any way or form" in the U.S., without directly referencing Mamdani's statements.

The Mayor of New York stated in an interview that the legal department is analyzing legal options to arrest Netanyahu, who is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes in Gaza. Netanyahu's office condemned Mamdani's statements, suggesting that they are an attempt to distract from internal issues.

Netanyahu is expected to travel to the U.S. in September for the UN General Assembly.
