Donald Trump monitored the operation from Mar-a-Lago, alongside generals, and described it as extremely complex and impressive. He stated that Maduro and his wife are on the USS Iwo Jima, which is heading towards New York, and emphasized that the U.S. cannot allow anyone else to take control of Venezuela. Trump declared that Venezuelans are happy about the capture of Maduro, whom he called a dictator, and mentioned that his administration will be very involved in the future of the country.
