American President Donald Trump reported a conversation with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, in which he claims that Macron was forced to accept his demands regarding the increase in drug prices. Trump recounted, from his residence at Mar-a-Lago, how he would have told Macron to "raise the price of drugs," mimicking the initial refusals of the French president.

Trump threatened that he would tax products from France sold in the U.S. if Macron did not accept his demands. Although Trump stated that Macron understood and accepted, there is no evidence that France announced any changes to drug prices. Additionally, the U.S. recently concluded a customs agreement with the European Union, but there have been no official announcements from France in this regard.
