American President Donald Trump stated that no one has contributed more to NATO than he has, in a message on his social network Truth Social. He claimed that without his intervention, NATO would have disappeared. This statement comes in the context of transatlantic tensions generated by his plans to take control of Greenland, a strategically rich resource island. In the face of Trump's threats to impose tariffs of 10% starting February 1, increasing to 25% from June, several European states, including Denmark, have expressed solidarity by withdrawing military contingents from Greenland. Additionally, European officials are threatening trade reprisals against the U.S., including restrictions on imports and exports. This situation has caused a crisis in transatlantic relations.
