The former CIA director, Leon Panetta, criticizes Donald Trump for the way he manages the war with Iran, stating that he "tends to be naive" and that he is in a situation without an exit if he does not quickly achieve a ceasefire. Panetta argues that the American administration did not anticipate Iran's reaction, including the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz, which triggered a global energy crisis and weakened the U.S. position. In his opinion, Trump is caught between escalating the conflict and the risk of declaring an unconvincing victory, while the strained relations with allies and the lack of a clear strategy further complicate the situation.
