Trump said that India, despite being an ally, imposes too high tariffs on American goods. He accused India of contributing to the war in Ukraine by buying Russian oil and equipment. As a result, his administration will introduce new trade tariffs, starting Friday, after striking trade deals with other countries. Trump believes the tariffs will help reduce the budget deficit and create US jobs.
