American President Donald Trump stated that an agreement to end the war with Russia is closer than ever, following talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other Western leaders. The U.S. has offered Ukraine strong security guarantees, similar to those in NATO's Article 5, during discussions held in Berlin. Senior American officials mentioned that these guarantees are acceptable to Russia, but will not be available indefinitely.

The discussions were described as constructive, with significant progress in addressing territorial issues and the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Ukraine confirmed that it will not cede territory to Russia, but appreciated the negotiations as productive.
