The President of the USA, Donald Trump, announced on Friday, on the Truth Social network, the conclusion of a three-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, valid until Monday, inclusive. This ceasefire, scheduled for May 9, 10, and 11, coincides with the celebration of Victory Day, celebrated both in Russia and in Ukraine, having significant importance in the context of World War II. Trump emphasized that the ceasefire will include the suspension of all military activities and an exchange of 1,000 prisoners from each country, a request he made directly. The American president expressed appreciation for the agreement between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky, hoping that this moment will mark the beginning of the end of a devastating conflict. Trump also mentioned that discussions for ending this war continue, with progress being made every day. Before this announcement, Russia had threatened Ukraine with attacks on Kyiv if the ceremonies dedicated to Victory Day were disrupted.
