Last week, Donald Trump announced that he plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest, after a phone conversation that he described as 'very productive.' However, Trump decided to cancel it, mentioning that he did not feel that the discussions would lead to a concrete result.
Asked about Putin's desire to end the war in Ukraine, Trump stated that both leaders want peace, emphasizing that if he had been president, the conflict would never have started. Nevertheless, he expressed frustrations regarding the slow pace of negotiations, mentioning that discussions with Putin do not lead to significant progress.
"Every time I talk to Vladimir, we have good conversations, but then they go nowhere," Donald Trump told journalists during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in the Oval Office.
