US President Donald Trump has decreed a 12-hour ceasefire between Israel and Iran, following a difficult conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This truce was announced after Iran's attack on the US base Al Udeid and US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. Although the truce was decreed, Iran launched rockets on the Israeli city of Beer Sheva, causing casualties, and Israel responded with air strikes. Trump asked Netanyahu to stop the attacks, and eventually Israel limited its actions. In addition, Qatar is mediating talks between the US and Iran to resume negotiations over the latter's nuclear program.
