Former President Traian Băsescu emphasized, in an interview with Digi24, the risks of terrorist attacks in Europe, mentioning that "sleeping" terrorist cells can be activated at any time. He stated that, following the outbreak of the war in Iran, there is an increased likelihood of terrorist attacks, both in Europe and in the United States. Băsescu expressed hope that intelligence services will succeed in detecting any attempt at an attack in time. Additionally, a German official warned that dormant Iranian cells in Europe could respond to American and Israeli attacks, and the FBI has raised the terrorist alert level in the U.S. in response to these events. The Secretary for Homeland Security stated that intelligence agencies are closely monitoring the situation to prevent threats.
