A devastating fire broke out on a boat carrying 75 Sudanese refugees, resulting in the death of at least 50 people. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that it provided medical care to 24 survivors and launched an urgent appeal to prevent such incidents. Since the beginning of the year, 456 migrants have died in the Mediterranean, and 420 are missing, highlighting the severity of the migration crisis in this region.
