The incident occurred on Thursday when a cable car crashed near the city of Naples, resulting in three deaths and one seriously injured person, while another is missing. The president of the public transportation company EAV described the accident as a tragedy, saying that a breakage of a support cable is suspected. Rescue teams are continuing the search and the incident is reminiscent of a similar accident in 2021, when 14 people died in northern Italy.
