A coranic school in eastern Indonesia has collapsed. One student has died, and 38 people are reported missing.

The Indonesian authorities announced that 38 people are suspected to be trapped under the rubble. Following the collapse, 11 people were rescued, and 91 managed to escape. 77 victims were taken to nearby hospitals for care. The collapse of the school drew attention to the need for "strict implementation of safety standards in construction."
