A tragic aviation accident occurred on Saturday at the archaeological site of the Nazca lines in Peru, where a Cessna Caravan C-208 plane crashed, resulting in the death of all 13 people on board. Among the passengers were eleven tourists, including two Germans, two Spaniards, and seven Italians.

The accident happened around 1:00 PM (local time), in the Pueblo Viejo region, shortly after taking off from an airport in Pisco. Local authorities have confirmed that there are no survivors, and so far, four bodies have been recovered.

The Nazca lines, included in the UNESCO World Heritage, are known for the ancient drawings made in the desert sand and attract many tourists who fly over the area each year. The airline Aerodiana, the owner of the plane, announced that it will assess the flight program according to the directives of the competent authorities. This is not the first aviation accident in the area, considering that similar crashes occurred in 2022 and 2010.
