Tourist destinations like Venice, Barcelona and New Zealand are introducing taxes to manage the negative impact of tourism.

Tourist taxes are used to fund local infrastructure and minimize the impact of tourism on the environment and the local community. Some of these taxes are already in place, such as the increased tourist tax in Barcelona, while others are yet to come into force, such as the entry tax in Venice.
