The agreement under which TikTok's U.S. division was sold to a consortium of American firms, including Oracle and Silver Lake, generated approximately $10 billion for the Trump administration.

This amount represents 70% of the total value of the agreement, according to estimates published by The Wall Street Journal and New York Times. Already, $2.5 billion was paid in January at the signing of the agreement, and the rest will be paid in installments. This is evidence of the unusual involvement of the Trump government in private business, considering that the administration had previously intervened by purchasing 10% of Intel and a stake in US Steel.

Efforts to block TikTok in the U.S. were initiated by the first Trump administration and completed by the second, culminating in this sale.
