The police in Warsaw arrested three Ukrainian men, aged 39, 42, and 43, who were traveling to Lithuania. Following a check, hacking equipment, a spy device detector, SIM cards, hard drives, and antennas were discovered in their car, all having the potential to interfere with IT systems. The men could not explain the purpose of these items and, although they presented themselves as IT specialists, they had difficulties answering questions in English. They are accused of possessing devices and programs for committing crimes, including damaging essential computer data for national defense, as well as fraud and cyber fraud.
The court has decided that they will remain in preventive detention for three months. Polish authorities are on high alert due to an alleged campaign of sabotage and cyberattacks from Russia. Russia denies these accusations, considering them a form of Russophobia.
