The White House intends to bring together major companies in the data center and artificial intelligence sectors, including Microsoft, Meta, and Anthropic, at the beginning of March to formalize a commitment to consumer protection against rising electricity costs.

This initiative continues the direction announced by President Donald Trump, who called on tech companies to build their own power plants to support the rapid expansion of data centers. The proposed commitment could resemble Microsoft's recent promises regarding investments in energy production and energy efficiency.

In the context of the midterm elections, the increasing energy demand from data centers is becoming a sensitive issue, generating protests related to the impact on consumers and the environment.
