The hospitality sector in India is facing a severe gas crisis, caused by the conflict in Iran, threatening restaurants and hotels with closures.

Indian authorities have set up a working group to analyze the industry's requests, which is struggling to obtain the necessary gas for cooking. The fuel shortage is the result of maritime traffic restrictions in the Persian Gulf, caused by the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran, which has led to rising energy prices. The hospitality industry, dependent on LPG, has warned that any disruption in supply could lead to catastrophic closures. Restaurants in Bengaluru, known as India's 'Silicon Valley', have reported significant declines in gas deliveries, and some have been forced to halt operations. The Indian government has responded by increasing domestic LPG production, but restaurants fear they will not have enough resources to survive. Companies have started to raise LPG prices, and industry associations are seeking government assistance to avoid the collapse of the industry.
